Heterogeneous Lithium Niobate Microring And Modulator Integration On Silicon (Invited)
Abstract
Submicron thin film of lithium niobate are wafer-bonded on silicon substrates and rib-loaded with different index-matching materials (namely, tantalum pentoxide, chalcogenide glass and silicon nitride) for waveguide formation. The performance of microring and Mach-Zehnder modulators on platforms using these three rib-loading materials is reviewed.
