The Impact Of Process Improvement In Ambulance Assembly
Abstract
REV Group, Inc. is a manufacturing company well known for their production of buses, ambulances and a variety of other vehicles. When manufacturing an ambulance, the cabinet assembly shop and its substations are responsible for the assembly of the cabinets that store medical supplies and equipment. The purpose of this project is to utilize process maps and time studies to determine where bottlenecks occur and which elements cause these bottlenecks. Additionally, the project aims to offer a method of improvement to eliminate current bottlenecks. In an industry as important as ambulance production, the margins of error are quite small because the effects of these errors are quite large. Minute improvements result in a significant impact.
