Home Energy Efficiency Retrofits And Pv Provide Fuel For Our Cars
Abstract
There is a clear route to prosperity represented by driving cars powered by electricity, which is saved by retrofitting homes or is made locally from utility solar or by rooftop solar retrofits. The additional demand for electricity can be met in the US by widespread deployment of renewables, such as photovoltaic (PV) solar power. The US DOE SunShot Initiative7 aims to reduce the total installed cost of residential roof-top solar and utility-scale solar energy systems to an unsubsidized $0.09/kWh and $0.06/kWh by 2020.
