System Dynamics Applications In Performance Measurement Research: Bibliometric Analysis
Keywords
Network Analysis; Performance Management; Performance Measurement; System Dynamics; Systematic Literature Review
Abstract
Scholarly investigations indicate an increasing trend in the combined use of organizational performance measurement (PM) systems and system dynamics (SD) modeling research. Although PM systems are now used more extensively, more researchers and practitioners are employing the use of SD modeling to augment the weaknesses of organizational PM systems. The aim of this paper is to explore the authorship characteristics and research groups for this literature area using network analysis. This paper presents the partial results of a full analysis and focuses on authorship bibliometric results and network analysis results of authorship characteristics from an initial systematic literature review process. The research considers publications on the following platforms: Emerald, Compendex, IEEE, and Web of Science. The network analysis examines authorship characteristics including research institutions, author disciplines, countries of origin and collaborations between authors. This investigation provides insight into how widely this research area has grown over the years and give recommendations for future work.
