Abstract

Dr. Yaser Fallah, the director of the Networked Systems Lab at the University of Central Florida, is a promising young researcher in the field of ITS and connected vehicles who has accumulated a range of recognitions for his valuable contributions. Dr. Fallah has been serving as a member of the steering committee for IEEE connected vehicle initiative since it's dawn. In 2015, he has received the NSF CAREER award, one of the most prestigious awards for any faculty member in the United States. In 2016, he was awarded the »Researcher of the Year» from the college of Engineering at West Virginia University. He has published over 100 peer reviewed journal and conference articles with outcomes that have been adopted in international standards. Some of his notable professional services to the ITS and connected vehicle community include founding and co-chairing the IEEE Connected and Automated Vehicles symposium, chairing the technical program committee of IEEE Wireless Vehicular Communication symposiums in 2014 and 2011, and serving as TPC member of many IEEE conferences including the Vehicular Networking Conference (VNC), Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC) etc. Dr. Fallah is currently an editor of the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology (TVT).
