Abstract

Figure 1(a) shows that rural counties with hurricanes ( I Mdn i = -2%) experience more negative impacts than rural counties without hurricanes ( I Mdn i = 0). This paper contributes to the tourism resilience research by (1) using data analysis to understand the differential impacts of hurricanes on tourism subsectors and subregions; (2) uncovering the vulnerability of tourism subsectors; and (3) developing new insight for tourism resilience strategies.
