Academic Characteristics and Faculty Compensation in US Hospitality Management Programs

Abstract

A sample of 470 CHRIE-member hospitality educators teaching in two- and four-year institutions was used to identify the academic structure of their academic institutions and specific hospitality tourism educational units. Faculty compensation and working conditions were also explored. Two hundred ninety (290) questionnaires were returned from the faculty to yield a response rate of 62%.
