Oral history interview of Glenn George Wozniak. Interview conducted by Anthony Pilot (accompanied by Dr. Austin Raabe) at Faith Lutheran Church in Naples, Florida on June 24, 2019. Interview topics include family background and life before service; getting drafted for the Vietnam War; basic training, heavy weapons infantry training, and weapons qualification training; receiving orders to deploy to Vietnam; parents' reactions to orders to deploy to Vietnam; processing in Vietnam upon landing; sleeping accommodations and arrangements; communicating with family while deployed; camaraderie and morale during time in Vietnam; work as an infantry rifleman; return to the US and readjustment to civilian life; life after Vietnam; memberships in veteran’s associations; thoughts and feelings on war; and misconceptions about veterans.

Collection Description

Contains logs, audio and video recordings of interviews with Central Florida's veterans as part of a history class project for the students at the University of Central Florida (UCF). The UCF Community Veterans History Project(CVHP) started in fall 2010. It collects, preserves, and makes accessible to the public the experiences of Central Florida's veterans so that future generations will better understand the realities of conflict. It is a collaborative endeavor supported by multiple departments and offices at UCF. The veterans' histories are archived and made digitally available through the UCF library and selected materials are contributed to the Veterans History Project at the Library of Congress.
