Description
My work reflects how I utilize bookbinding techniques as a gateway to a time period beyond my comprehension. I believe that so much of art contains a deeper spiritual understanding that can only be found through tactile exploration. I try to replicate a calming sensory experience through my choice of neutrally dyed leather and tea-soaked paper. Each page was hand dyed in tea to create unique coloring variations and texture throughout the journal. The work itself was created utilizing the Nag Hammadi techique board off the Agnostic Gosspels found in the text of Nag Hammadi, Egypt in 1945.
