From artist statement:
My piece is a representation of a koi fish pond. I wanted to create and evoke the feeling of a tranquil atmosphere as you look at the book. In looking through the depths of the pond, it aids in thought and reflection – ideas that are essential for the growth we all experience in life. Accompanied by the peaceful koi are words and whispers of those words that enable self-reflection. Like the transparency of material used, these words and images mirror the honest periods of reflection we must have for ourselves, on our journey of self-actualization.
