Description
Artist statement:
For this book I put together my own photos that I had taken and experimented with to create my own unique photobook. In this book I experimented with various printing techniques and photographic processes. The bird photos are from my final portfolio in my film and darkroom class, they were taken at a place near where I live that I like to birdwatch at. The transparency button photos are from my own personal button collection, chosen due to their shape and design on how they would layer on top of the photos for a unique frame. The printed fabric sheets are the button and bird photos layered and edited into one image, made blue to appear like a cyanotyped image, printed on fabric to create variety and new texture. The cover is also created from one of these printed fabric sheets. For the binding I had chosen an Eastern four hole binding, I felt the look and structure of the stitch both fit in with the content and is able to support the various types of pages being used throughout the book.
