Description

Artist statement:

The Natural Order depicts a nature spirit traveling through the jungle helping various creatures to the best of her abilities. As she travels through the jungle, the problems, these animals face become less natural and more man made. The nature spirit struggles more and more as the presence of man tramples the way of life established here for its own gain. The disembodied ‘hand of God’ represents the Christianization of the new world as the conquistadors stormed and burned through the established cultures of the Americas. Towards the end of the story, the nature spirit offers her heart and power to the wounded jaguar as they transform to a warrior aspect of mother nature in a last-ditch attempt to fight off encroaching extinction.
