Walter W. S. Cook standing in Nicholls Town, a town in northeastern Andros, Bahamas. Cook was the founding director of the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University, served as an art professor from 1932 to 1953, and was historian of Medieval Spanish art. He was a companion of William Junior Bryant during Bryant’s trips to Andros and New Providence in 1946. In the distance of the image is a British flag, plantain or banana trees, and people walking down a narrow dirt path. Slide labeled Nicolls Town Andros Mar. '46.
