Oracabessa is a small town in Saint Mary, Jamaica. Its harbor was once an important banana port. This harbor town derives its name from the Spanish settlers who established a supply post there called Oracabessa, or "Golden Head." This image shows rows of boats filled with bananas leaving the Oracabessa bay. Slide labeled Aracabessa Banana Loading Boats.
