The Slavia Store building: Then and Now, 1926
The building erected in 1926 to provide a general store and gas station for the community also served as a comfortable home for the family of the owner, Martin Stanko. A 2015 digital image shows the portion of the building (no longer owned by the Stanko family)which remains.

The Stanko Family with Visitors to Their Store, c. 1950s
Mrs. Juliana Stanko (far right) poses with husband, Martin, and niece, Marian (2nd from left), along with two unidentified visitors to the Stanko's store in Slavia. c.1950s. Martin Stanko was a key figure in the establishment of Slavia, but did not become a full time resident until 1926. At that time, he retired from a successful business career in Cleveland and, with his wife, Juliana, moved to Slavia and built the general store and gas station which they operated for another 3 decades. The Stanko Store Building, c. 2006
Taken by an unknown photographer, c. 2006, this image appeared in a 2006 calendar distributed by The Oviedo Preservation Project. It shows the building, erected c. 1926, in which Martin and Juliana Stanko operated a general store and gas station until Mr. Stanko's death in the 1950s. The Stankos resided in the rear portion of the structure. 8x10" page from TOPP calendar, dated 2006.

The "Visitors' Book" On Back Wall of "Cry Room." 1991
The rear (west) wall of the "cry room" in the 1957 brick church held a tract rack and a guest book, which visitors were asked to sign. This photo was taken in 1991 before the reconstruction of this area (now known as "the chapel").

The Wedding of Adam and Mary Klimek. c. 1915
A studio photo of the wedding of Adam and Mary Klimek. Location unknown. c.1915. The Klimeks are considered to be one of Slavia's founding families. Adam had a presence in the church and community in the early years and visited often with his wife (the sister of Mrs. Paul Lukas, Sr.) and three sons. Both Mr. and Mrs. Klimek returned to Slavia to enjoy long lives together at the Lutheran Haven Retirement Center: Mr. Klimek died in 1987 at the age of 97; Mary lived for another six years and passed away at the age of 94 in 1993

The wedding of Brandon Dodd to Megan Kathleen Duda in St. Luke's sanctuary on May 26, 2012. The bride is the great-great-granddaughter of Andrew Duda, Sr. and Katarina Duda. One hundred years after Andrew arrived in FL and became a charter member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, and five generations later, Megan perpetuated the tradition set by her great-grandparents (John and Katherine Mikler Duda)with their marriage in the wood "shack" church in 1928, by having her marriage to Brandon Dodd sanctified at St. Luke's
