The passport used by Katarina Zatko Duda and her four children when they emigrated from the Austro-Hungarian Empire to the US to join the family patriarch, Andrew Duda, Sr., who had arrived in the US in 1909. The passport (written in French) was issued in May, 1912 "in the name of Emperor Franz Joseph." The Duda family was ultimately reunited in Slavia, Florida in the same year. The Passport was found in the belongings of their only daughter (Anna Duda Jakubcin) in 2012

Kucharik based his sermon on 'Builders,' as taken from Matthew 7:24-29, for the 60th anniversary service of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. A narration of [the] congregation's history was given by James Colbert. Mrs. Betty Kohany was organist and Mrs. Judy Duda was choir director." The full article was accompanied by a photo of Pastor Kucharik, standing near the entrance of the church with Mr. George Jakubcin, Sr. who was the oldest living founding member (at age 85) of the congregation at that point in time. Church records show that a special event (planned by committee: Jim & Sue Colbert, Walter & Judy Duda and Dan & Mary Ann Lukas), including a pastry buffet and a display of historical images in the halls of the new junior high school building, followed the special bilingual worship service, held at 3:00 pm.

Acceptance of Gift From Jaroslav Duda. June, 2009. Slovakia
Judy Duda thanks Jaroslav Duda for the gift he has just presented to American members of the Duda Family during a Family Reunion in Piestany, Slovakia in June, 2009. An early edition of the "Kralice Bible" printed in 1588 in the Czech language, which had been handed down for many generations through Jerry's family, was his extraordinary gift to his American cousins in the Duda Family.

Youngest brother (Adam)of Andrew Duda, Sr. stands with his wife (far left) and his sister, Eva Duda Pavlik at the site of a family grave in Velcice, Slovakia. c.1945. The family of Adam, who was 22 years younger than Andrew, never emigrated to the US because Adam had to remain behind to care for his aging parents when his older brothers left Slovakia for America in the early 1900s. Adam's grandson, Jaroslav, has remained in close contact with his American cousins throughout his adult life and arranged a reunion of the Duda Family in Slovakia in 2009, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Andrew, Sr.'s emigration to the U.S.
