Description
A black and white image of a small group of men, identified as the orchestra, standing on the steps of White Hall. The columned entrance and brick exterior can be seen in the image. The orchestra is made up of nine men. One man is standing in the center smiling widely, and four men on each side are pointing at him. They are all wearing dark-colored suits. The instruments of the members are gathered in front of the men. The instruments consist of trombones, trumpets, saxophones, and a drum. Printed on the front of the drum is "Bethune-Cookman [illegible] Serenaders." Written on the back of the photograph is the note, "The first orchestral group in B-CC to commercialize on entertainments for social occasions. 1928." The image is printed on Velox paper. The photographer of the image is unknown.
