Description

A black and white image of the Bethune-Cookman University marching band marching in a parade down a business disctrict street. They can be seen in the center of the photograph, wearing marching band uniforms and carrying their instruments. On either side of the street stands spectators. On the right side of the street are also tall palm trees. At the top of the image are strreet lights. In the background of the image are business buildings and a railroad crossing. At the left of the image is a building with an advertisement on its side that reads, "Station: Rosie O'Grady's Good Time Emporium." Based on this business, it is possible that this parade is taking place in Orlando, Florida, because Rosie O'Grady's was a business on Church Street Station in downtown Orlando. On the back of the photograph is the following note: "Marching band in a Homecoming parade 1960s." The photographer of the image is unknown.
