Description
Pastor Stephen M. Tuhy shown with 27 schoolchildren outside St. Luke's first school, which was housed in the wood building formerly used as a church for several years. C. 1947-1948. Pastor Tuhy established the school by first teaching a class of pre-school age children himself. The congregation then engaged a full-time teacher to teach grades 1-8. Small B&W snapshot scanned at SLLC on Epson 10000XL, October, 2014. One of many photos found in a scrapbook entitled, "History of St. Luke's Christian Day School," compiled by Mary Ann Tesinsky Weisenbarger in the mid-1960s.
