Description

Photos and press clipping of the annual "Great Day in the Country" fundraiser presented by the Oviedo Women's Club and held on the picnic grounds of St. Luke's Lutheran Church on April 30, 1977. The spacious picnic area behind the brick church was a perfect venue for an event meant to entice Central Floridians to experience 'a great day in the country' while enjoying the crafts, food and entertainment arranged by the OWC. The event was held in Slavia for several more years, but the picnic area became smaller and smaller as St. Luke's built additional facilities on the church property. Eventually the Club moved the event back to a site in the city of Oviedo.
