Description

Walter and Judy Duda exit the (1957) brick church following their wedding ceremony at St. Luke's on June 14, 1959. Because the bride was the school's music teacher, a choir of schoolchildren had performed during the wedding (singing "O, Perfect Love" from the balcony). Some of the children had slipped downstairs to be the first to greet the couple and can be seen in this photo. Left to right in photo at the door: Kathy Rook, Virginia Beasley, Sheala Best, Chuck Best. In photo departing the church to walk to reception at the school, the bride's younger sisters assist in keeping the bride's dress safe from the wet grass while the groomsmen recover from the heat in the un-airconditioned church!
