Description

Rev. Stephen M. Tuhy preaches from the pulpit of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. One image was taken on April 26, 1959 (for the celebration of his 25th year in the pastoral ministry, the other, in 1962, for the commemoration of the congregation's 50th Jubilee anniversary. The church had been enlarged by elongating the nave and adding two transepts (wings) in 1957. Pastor Tuhy's sermons were carried on the radio (580 am) each Sunday morning. The carved pulpit from which he preached was created in 1957 and was moved to the chancel of a new, larger sanctuary dedicated in 1993.
