Description

Two images of the interior of St. Luke's Lutheran Church c.late 1960s. The black & white image was taken on the 2nd Sunday after Easter and the colored photograph was taken on Palm Sunday, but the exact years in which the photography was done is not known. From the time of the expansion of the brick church in 1957 until extensive remodeling was done in 1986, the chancel area remained almost unchanged, except for seasonal decor. A baptismal font and lectern can be seen to the left of the altar area; communion rails and kneeling cushions are placed a step down from the altar platform and to the right,in addition to the carved pulpit and hymn board, a small portion of the organ can be seen, as well as the paneled wall behind which the radio operator worked his controls for the congregational live broadcast each Sunday morning.
