Description

When land agents and prospective investors in the purchase of land by the Slavia Colony Co. posed for a 1911 photo (looking southward, toward Winter Park) on the railroad tracks near the current intersection of SR 426, they could not have envisioned a time...a century later... when those tracks would be replaced by a paved hiking-biking trail, running parallel to a busy four-lane divided highway. In a 2015 digital image taken from approximately the same vantage point as the historic photo, Lukas Nursery is on the right with the Slavia Road intersection behind the photographer.
