Description

In the early years, the first residents of the Lutheran Haven's Home for the Aged (aka "Old Folks' Home")lived almost like a small family, sharing chores and enjoying the common areas of the building, which had been officially dedicated in 1948. The Home faced SR 426 in Slavia, near the intersection of Chapman Road (which was only a dirt road in 1950). Scenes show the sitting room, the dining area, one resident cleaning dishes and another cooking soup for the group's noon meal.
