Description
Photographic version of an original black-and-white photographic postcard of the Robins Nest Hotel. Image depicts people standing in front of the hotel and on the porch. Typewritten on the front of the postcard was: Robins Nest, Sanford, Fla., and Maxwell and Rourke, Ice Cream Parlor. The Robin's Nest was named after Aaron Robins, and was located at 402 W. First Street in Sanford. The hotel was first mentioned in the Sanford city directory in 1909 as Robins Nest, and was renamed Empire Hotel in 1917. Inscribed on the back of the photograph is: 2004.002.0049
