A black and white photograph of Ralph Bunche, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1950, giving a speech at the 50th anniversary celebration of the founding of Bethune-Cookman University. Ralph Bunche can be seen standing in the center of the photograph, wearing an academic gown and eyeglasses. He is standing behind a podium with a microphone attached to it. Seated behind him from the left to right are Mary McLeod Bethune and Richard Vernon Moore, Sr., who was president of BCU at the time this photograph was taken. To the right of him is an unknown woman. To the right of the podium can be seen an unknown man. They are seated in front of a large theater curtain. On the back of the photograph is written in pencil, "Dr. Ralph Bunche, BCC 50th yr anniversary speaker; Mrs. Bethune, Dr. Richard Moore, March 1954." The photographer of the image is unknown.
