Abstract
The students will identify celebrations and national holidays as a way of remembering and honoring the heroism and achievements of the people, events, and our nation’s ethnic heritage The students will describe the connection between two individuals, events, ideas, or pieces of information in a text. The students will identify words and phrases in stories at various points in a text. The students will add drawings or other visual displays to descriptions when appropriate to clarify ideas, thoughts, and feelings. The student will, with guidance and support from adults, use a variety of digital tools to produce and publish writing, including in collaboration with peers. The student will demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking.
