    Abstract

    The interaction of spatial solitary waves with one transverse dimension in materials with a chi((2)):chi((2)) nonlinearity is investigated. The relation between the phases of the two interacting solitary waves strongly influences this interaction and generates threshold phenomena. (C) 1995 Optical Society of America
