    Abstract

    Data from the Florida crash records database were examined to identify the role of drivers,vehicles and environmental characteristics on free way work zone crashes. Results showed that roadway geometry, weather conditions, age, gender, lighting conditions, residence code and driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs were significant risk factors correlated with work zone crashes.
