Description
In this special episode, you'll hear from Dr. Keith Folse share his journey from growing up in a small town on the Mississippi Gulf coast to a very meaningful career as a English language teacher, TESOL educator, trainer, and researcher. Hear how he used his natural curiosity about languages as a child to fuel a lifelong passion for language learning and teaching.
Dr. Folse's teaching career spans over 40 years with 25 of those years spend as faculty at UCF. He taught in Saudi Arabia, Japan, Malaysia, Kuwait, and Spain. He has also published over 80 textbooks, including the Great Writing series published by Cengage Learning and Keys to Teaching Grammar, published by Michigan press.
Dr. Folse offers tips for listeners at multiple stages of their academic and career paths including those who are just curious about English language teaching and those who are already teaching but considering pursuing more advanced degrees. He also shares how he began the undergraduate TEFL Certificate program at UCF and how proud he is of the impact it has made on the lives of those who have used it as a launching point for their careers.
