Without Making Landfall
Abstract
This collection of poetry is the voyage of a female speaker searching to find who she is and her place in the world. She seeks to understand her past, varying from childhood up to the more recent years in her life, through retelling the events in detailed descriptions and images and drawing connections with her current life. In addition, she tries to find a balance between reality and her imagination because her perception is often veiled by what she imagines is real in her mind. Driven by a desire for truth and understanding, she finds the love and sense of belonging that she has been searching for, and discovers in perceiving this for the first time that it was there all along.
