ABOARD THE USS HORNET. Using microphones to communicate, President Richard M. Nixon and the Apollo 11 astronauts exchange greetings through a window of the Mobile Quarantine Facility aboard the USS Hornet. Astronauts, left to right, Neil A. Armstrong, Michael Collins and Edwin E. Aldrin, Jr., entered the quarantine facility after their recovery from the Pacific Ocean today, eight days after the start of their lunar landing mission.
