    Description

Surviving medieval Hebrew poetry written by women is very rare. The first of these two poems as written by a woman whose name has not been recorded. She is known only as the wife of Dunaš (Dunash), a noted scholar. Her poem worries about whether Dunaš will remember her, now that he has gone to Spain. In the second poem, Dunaš replied: ‘Could I betray a woman so wise?’
