Some Olympic events, especially those in which judges play a role, often end in controversy. National bias or style preferences can override technical skills in scoring by some judges. Sometimes none of these come into play, and the performances are at such a high level and differ technically only by an eyelash. In the figure skating dance competition that ended on Wednesday evening in Milan this, in my view, was the case.
