Letter dated August 16, 1686 (August 6, 1686 Old Style) from William Berry to Phineas Pemberton expressing appreciation for their friendship and Phineas's role in Berry's life. Berry also requests Phineas's help in publishing writings from Berry and the governor.

Phenihas Pemberton [Phineas Pemberton] my Deare [dear] love freely; flowes [flows] towards
thee [you] Even from a tender hart [heart] in which I salute thee [you] and thy [your]
Deare [dear] wife nowe [now] deare [dear] ffriend [friend] the fresh ocation
[occasion] wheareof [whereof]
in the thoughts how the Lord did make the [thee] [you] an Instrument of
help unto me in my great Concern for which my hart [heart] Praises
the Lord and Returns acknowledmt: [acknowledgement] unto thee [you] for thy [your] great love
and Care which whilst I live I shall never forgett: [forget] Deare [Dear] friend
I wright [write] a few Lines unto thee [you] from the Governers: [Governor’s] to desire thee [you]
to Publish our Intentions in wrighting [writing] at some place according
to Law which I desire thee [you] not to Neglect and that itt [it] may beare [bear]
date from the 5th of this Instant for I think to be up againe [again]
at ye [the] next mly [monthly] meeting and will Indeavour [endeavor] to bring what thou [you]
