Oxidation of various alkenes with sodium perborate in acetic acid and subsequent elaboration of these products
Keywords

Abstract
This report discusses the formation of hydroxy acetates upon the oxidation of various alkenes with sodium perborate in acetic acid and subsequent oxidation with pyridinium chlorochromate to form acetoxy ketones. To help characterization, the acetoxy alcohols were acylated with acetic anhydride to form diacetates. Complete spectral data for these compounds and possible mechanisms of formation of these compounds are also included.
