Objective video quality analysis of MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and Windows Media video formats
Keywords
Digital video; MPEG (Video coding standard)
Abstract
An objective quality evaluation was performed on various video which range from no motion to high motion encoded by three encoders at two different frame rates, two frame sizes and three low bit rate combinations. In this thesis, the entire error finding has been done using MATLAB. Several factors are studied namely the effects of changes in frame rate at a fixed bit rate, effects of changes in bit rate at a fixed frame rate, effects of changes in frame size at a fixed and variable frame rates and bit rates. The i1npact of compression schemes namely MPEG 1, MPEG 2 and Windows Media were also studied .
