Title
Appendant Subsystem Design Using Ritz Vectors.
Abstract
This paper describes a computationally efficient method of appendant subsystem design for a vibrating structure. The algorithm gives the Ritz vector basis for the modified structure as a function of appendant system parameters without a complete analysis of the entire structure. This basis provides a finite element model of reduced order for dynamic analysis, which may be used in the repetitive analysis phase of optimal design algorithms.
