Method For Finding The Mechanical Properties Of Arbitrary Solids
Abstract
The Mechanical Properties of homogeneous solids bounded by arbitrary closed surfaces may be computed easily using a TETRAHEDRAL element for volumetric and a TRIANGULAR element for surface properties. By special modification of the theory, the properties of non-homogeneous solids of specified density distribution may be found. Although in this paper only convex solids are dealt with, the theory can be applied to concave solids in terms of additional treatments.
