Title
Combined Heat And Moisture Transfer In Closed Cavities
Abstract
This paper presents numerical simulation results for buoyancy-induced flow in a two-dimensional, closed, air-filled cavity. The buoyance effect is due to both temperature and water vapor density variations within the cavity. The cavity is bounded by porous walls, and in the simulations, both the cavity and the walls are considered. The effects of wall properties (thermal and moisture) on natural convection are studied. For a variety of cases, temperature, water vapor density and velocity fields are presented and discussed. Local Nusselt and Sherwood numbers along the inner cavity walls are reported for a range of Rayleigh numbers.
