Title
Effect Of Circulation Control Strategies On The Performance Of Open Loop Solar Dhw Systems.
Abstract
Six open loop single-tank domestic hot water systems (four pumped, one horizontal, and one vertical-tank thermosiphon) have been tested side-by-side at the Florida Solar Energy Centers' systems research laboratory at Cape Canaveral, Florida for the purpose of comparing the effect of circulation strategy on system performance. The systems were operated one week with the backup element on and two weeks with it off. The circulation strategy was rotated among the four pumped systems every three weeks and the data averaged over 12 week sets to eliminate the influence of individual systems on performance data.
