Title
Feedforward/Feedback Control Law For Near Time-Optimal Spacecraft Reorientation
Abstract
A Feedforward/Feedback Control Law is described for achieving near-minimum time reorientation of a rigid spacecraft. Approximate control switch times are calculated via a quasi closed-form solution. These switch times are used to generate parabolic switching functions in decoupled quasi-coordinate space which are analogous to the single axis minimum time closed loop control. The efficacy of the control law is validated using the rigidized model of the Advanced Structure Technology Research Experiment (ASTREX) developed by the Air Force Phillips Laboratory.
