Improved Estimation Of Time-Optimal Control Switching
Abstract
The problem of estimating the control switch times for minimum time rest-to-rest reorientation of a rigid body is considered. Previously, a first order, linear approximation of the state transition matrix for the four Euler parameters was used to rapidly generate approximate switch times. This first order approximation is expanded to include non-linear terms to improve the accuracy of the switch time estimation. The method developed can be executed in near real-time with modest computation power.
