Title

Numerical Analysis Of The Quantum States Of Optical And Rf Systems Containing Quantum Well And Superlattice Devices

Abstract

The authors present a numerical method for calculating optical and electronic operating parameters of systems containing quantum well and/or superlattice devices. These devices use the quantum mechanical characteristics of confined electrons to realize novel optical and electronic properties. These novel properties allow for the construction of customizable infrared detectors and RF oscillators. In order to determine critical engineering parameters, the quantum mechanical state of electrons in the system must be determined. The authors provide a fast numerical method for accomplishing this. Simulation results are shown to be comparable with experimental outcomes.
