Abstract

This bibliography describes the evolution of community oriented policingfrom the turn of the century to the present and provides citations in a general list and in eight topical lists. The topical lists include case studies/program evaluation, citizen participation/police-community partnerships, efficacy of community policing and crime prevention methods, gangs/ juvenile delinquency, law enforcement and citizen reactions to community onrented policing, police officer training/education/ management, program implementation, public housing, theories of crime and policing, and policing models/studies/surveys. Intended for a broad readership, the bibliography contains citations from academic sources and from publications targeted to specific practitioners in the criminal justice system. © 1997, SAGE Publications, Inc.
