Title
Current-Sheet Formation Near A Hyperbolic Magnetic Neutral Line In The Presence Of A Plasma Flow With A Uniform Shear-Strain Rate: An Exact Solution
Abstract
An exact solution for the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations for a time-dependent, two-dimensional flow of an incompressible plasma with a uniform shear-strain rate in hyperbolic magnetic field is given. This solution predicts that the presence of a shear-strain in the plasma-flow tends to impede the current-sheet formation near the hyperbolic magnetic neutral line. © 1999 Elsevier Science B.V.
