Title
A Novel Soft-Switching Power Factor Correction Ac/Dc Converter
Abstract
In this paper, a novel efficiency improved single stage soft switching AC/DC converter is presented. The converter utilizes the leakage inductance of the output transformer and the capacitance of the switches to provide zero voltage switching (ZVS) condition for the main switch. Based on a specific design example for a 100W @ 28VDC and 500kHz, a prototype has been built to experimentally verify the theoretical analysis. It is shown that with the additional voltage clamped auxiliary switch, the converter can operate in ZVS condition with keeping near unity power factor.
