Title
Creol'S Tech-Transfer Success Stories
Abstract
The Center for Research in Optics and Lasers (CREOL) at the University of Central Florida (UCF), Orlando, US, focuses on technology transfer to photonics companies. It continues to help entrepreneurs establish companies based on technologies that are developed by it and transferred to them. Executives or entrepreneurs who require technology to develop a new product at their photonic companies, seek the assistance of the center for transferring such technologies. Professionals working at the center develop and transfer technologies that help entrepreneurs in establishing photonic companies and developing new products. The university encourages such joint efforts between the CREOL and entrepreneurs through its Photonics Incubation Program, which is part of the center. CREOL and the UCF Technology Incubator (UCFTI) have been able to establish a number of photonics companies through joint efforts and technology transfer.
