Title
Generation Of A Two-Dimensional Unstructured Mesh For The East Coast Of South Carolina
Abstract
ADCIRC is a state-of-the-art, finite element model for coastal circulation. This article discusses the application of ADCIRC to perform real-time predictions of downstream tide-stage hydrographs for the Waccamaw River. Two major tasks are accomplished by this study. First, an unstructured two-dimensional mesh is developed for a coastal region comprising the entire East Coast of South Carolina. Second, real-time simulations are performed to generate tide-stage hydrographs that will be used by the National Weather Service River Forecast System for future forecasts.
